One key lesson that made an indelible mark on me was a statement made by Gbenga Sesan: \u201cNo one is too big to be ignored, and no one is too small to be disrespected.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They always emphasized that your accomplishments and name will bring you into rooms, but you must drop them at the door and learn from every person and opportunity before you. Our best work is often still ahead, and you can\u2019t get blinded by who you have been\u2014that\u2019s in the past!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They also stressed the importance of paying it forward. When you see a younger person who needs help, don&#8217;t wait for them to reach out. It\u2019s boring to be the ONLY successful person in the room.
