It’s sure a reality that social media and the internet are having huge impact offline. Major of all being Barack Obama winning the US presidency through effective use of the tools. Also in Iran, social media tools were used to challenge the regime in the country.

Fast forward 2011… it’s few days shy of a month into the year, we have already seen how social media deposed a regime in Tunisia while Egypt is the next turn where things are happening right now! The Egyptians where motivated by the success in Tunisia but so far they are getting result… the President is now ready to engage the citizens eventhough he’s unwilling to go.

Our major questions before we really can say: Eureka! are;

  1. How willing is the US to allow for a regime change in Countries they have interest?
  2. Is there a possibility of ‘protest hijack’ by extremist in such countries?
  3. Given the case of Egypt, the president says he will appoint a new government how genuine, trust-worthy could this be?
  4. Can regime change be possible in other dictatorial countries?
  5. Can we create alternative internet without the government control?
  6. Where else should we expect this movement, countries where their presidents/Supreme Leaders have stayed in power for more than 25yrs.
  7. Could the next countries be Libya, Yemen, Iran, Syria, or even Nigeria?

There are so many questions begging for answer as we witness a paradigm shift in power structure around globe!
