My New Project: Lagos Traffic Monitoring App

On December 10, 2010, in Innovation, by possicon

I’ve joined the forthcoming Social Innovation camp to launch an idea I’ve been working in my head for some years now. I titled it TrafficBuddy.

What does it do? It actually help ease the traffic situation in the country, most especially Lagos.
It’s concieved to be a distributable platform, using crowdsourced traffic status, to answer traffic situation requested by anyone.

I was suppose to launch the service as a product on greenlagos.com but since I have shifted my attention from the project for now, i think programme will compel me to actually complete the project.
For Lagosians, i say you should take a sigh of relieve.

How will it work?
Well it’s a simple concept, get people to feed the platform with traffic status where they are, and also request same from SMS. The data will be shared via social media and web services.

It will be absolutely free! Yeah! I mean it… I know you might be thinking, how will u sustain? Well, not to despair, I got that figured. The beta version is Available here.
